Born on January 19, 1954, in Lisbon.
Began studying Architecture at the School of Fine Arts of Lisbon in 1974 and completed the degree at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo in 1979.
Interned at Induplano in Lisbon and at Croce Aflalo & Gasperini in São Paulo. In 1976, together with architect Nuno Vieira da Fonseca, founded GAUP (São Paulo). In 1981, they went on to establish INTERGAUP in Lisbon.
His career is extensive and his portfolio international. He is co-author of the Eldorado Shopping Mall project in São Paulo. He has participated in many other projects, including the entire branch network of the BCP Group in Portugal and 18 other countries, the Macau Cultural Center, the Millennium BCP Complex in Tagus Park, and the BCP headquarters on Rua Augusta in Lisbon.
He has developed projects across all areas of professional practice, ranging from single-family housing to highly complex developments. More recently, he has been involved in various urban rehabilitation projects, in line with the wave of renewal that has taken place especially in Lisbon.
He is also the founder of Coudelaria do Monte Velho and owner of Monte Velho Equo-Resort, a boutique hotel dedicated to equestrian tourism, whose architectural design is his own.
He is an honorary partner of AQA – Associated Architects, the result of the merger between INTERGAUP and RMS Architects.
